Why we need your support:
Conservatoire education is transformative. At East 15, our hands-on training shapes the next generation of actors, directors, stage managers, producers, and other creative professionals. But delivering our high quality, specialist education is expensive.
Unfortunately, tuition fees alone do not cover the full expense of delivering the world-leading training that our students receive. Inflation, rising operational costs, and increased taxes pose ongoing financial challenges.
That's why we're turning to you for support.
Your donations will help sustain our commitment to conservatoire training and enhance the learning experience of our students. With your contributions, we can continue to offer our highly specialised programmes: nine BA courses and six at the MA/MFA level.
The East 15 student experience:What sets a conservatoire education apart is its focus on learning through experience. As a member of the Federation of Drama Schools (FDS) in the UK and the University and Regional Theatre Association (URTA) in the USA, we adhere to the highest standards of conservatoire education.
Our students receive daily training in studios and workshops, where they master their craft. They are guided by a dedicated team of designated course leads and leads for core skills (Movement, Voice and Singing). We also have full-time theatre managers, filmmakers, technicians, designers and production managers and stage managers to support students as they prepare for their careers. Through the University of Essex, our students are supported by the Student Wellbeing and Inclusivity Team and other support networks.
To provide training that is relevant to the current industry, we also employ working actors, directors, designers, and practitioners who supplement the tuition of our full-time staff. In a typical year, we bring in over 200 visiting artists to work with our students.
At East 15, students don't sit in lecture halls; they engage in practical training and assessments. In lieu of traditional exams, our final year performance students stage fully supported productions in our own theatres, site-specific venues, and central London theatres, or make films with a dedicated crew.
Our graduates:
We are proud of all our graduates. With a legacy of almost seventy years, East 15 has produced alumni who are now well established in industries across the globe.
Most of our graduates go on to pursue professional careers in theatre, film, tv and/or gaming. There are countless graduates quietly adding quality, diversity and impact to projects around the world, as well as plenty of names that you may recognise. Our alumni include:
